![]() So this lag must be caused by my CPU having a hard time rendering. Tho in most "low-end" games it isnt that bad, I can barely notice it. ![]() This lag "spread" to other games too, such as Terraria, Fallout 3 and NV, Insurgency, Starbound and even Undertale. Since I made this post, things have gotten both worse and better. Originally posted by !Based N00b!:(I do use potato settings) (make sure to delete all the other random configs that come from cfg.tf and just use the gfx.cfg) To test this I recommend going to cfg.tf and getting Comanglias stability config and not lowering textures or models below medium everything else should be ok to lower. This might not be your problem as you've probably already explored a large number of possible solutions (or have already solved the issue and have forgotten this discussion) and would of tested any number of graphics settings. What happens is you end up with good frames but the logic has to share space with some of the rendering calculations so the game sort of pauses the game logic while it deals with the rendering load it has been given. (If you've downloaded a config and then messed with it like I like to do you can sometimes end up in this state (which I found out the hard way)) You have two parts of your computer trying to handle two systems in the game your GPU handles the rendering and your CPU handles the game logic but some people don't have a strong GPU so they use configs to lower the load on the GPU some settings just make what's being rendered of a lower quality or removes entire details/features but other settings tell the CPU to take the some of the load instead. How do I know it? Well, lets say I spent lotsa of my time with sitting in front of a computer and with cursing.Īt this point, I am open for ANY AND ALL IDEAS that would. Made a discussion on steam (but since that, I figured some stuff out).Change to a more common resulution (I have a 1366x768 monitor). So I read discussions, tinkered around with settings, yet no progress were made. I have 80+ fps (I do use potato settings), low ping on servers. Before that, sometimes this "lag" just, wasn't there, everything was smooth. 2-3 months? There was an update in February, which made it worse. Here comes the funny part, IT IS NOT MY INTERNET I have this problem in single player too! (actually in Single I noticed this "lag" begins after set up time, kinda weird) Worst part is. EVEN the props do that! Carts, Intel cases, trains, everything! It seems like I have a really bad connection. Plus it isn't just me, every player moves like this, even when they taunt or use their weapons. It's like I'm moving, but for a tenth of a second I stop, then "teleport" forward. I press 'w' and move forward, BUT it feels "choppy", "laggy" or "jittery". Everything loads in, I am in the class select menu, I choose, let's say pyro. weird problem, which I can not understand nor make it disappear(?)
